![]() ![]() If you defined your IP addresses as static dns entries, say with a specific prefix (e.g. It did give me an idea though about a way to not have to key in the same IP addresses over and over in various firewall rules and run the risk of missing one if the address changed. I'm not certain yet how it works, as in at what point is the dns name resolved, as on only when you define it, versus whenever it's used, or whenever you update it, or whenever the router is rebooted. I was playing with the Microtik address lists a little bit the other night and it does have one capability that neither Zyxel nor Ubiquity have, the ability to create an address list item as a dns name that's resolved on the fly. The one thing that I really liked about Zyxel routers that neither the Ubiquity nor Microtik routers have is the ability to assign names to specific IP addresses and then use those names in various address groups, so that if you change the actual IP address under its name, it instantly takes effect everywhere that name was used, and also you could nest address groups within address groups which was helpful.
